Phuket Travel Tips is the place to discover everything about Phuket - easily, effortlessly.
Hi Guys,
Welcome to my own little website on Phuket. My name is Tim, and I created Phuket Travel Tips so that I can share with you all the wonderful things about this lovely island on the Andaman Sea. I visited Phuket the first time around 2001, and love it so much I have been coming back again and again. Now, I even co-own Pristina Tours, a travel agency in Phuket, so that I can share all the lovely things about Phuket to all the people who visit it.
I plan this website to that it is very easy for you to use. You will find all the information you need close to the homepage. In fact, I take care to ensure no pages are no more than 2 clicks from the homepage. That way, you never have to dig deep, and - hopefully - you never get lost. In addition to creating Phuket Travel Tips website, I have also started the Thailand Travel Tips Newsletter. The purpose is to provide Phuket enthusiasts with updates and interesting information about all the tourist attractions and happenings here. To subscribe to my Thailand Travel Tips newsletter, just click on Newsletter Subscription Center.
Exploring Phuket
Phuket Travel Tips is created with budget travelers in mind, particularly those who will be arriving in Phuket without a tour package in hand. It doesn't mean that if you arrive in Phuket on a tour, you won't benefit from this website - the articles I've written describing each tourist sight should certainly enhance your knowledge. But for free independent travelers, I have included tips on "getting there" for each sight, so that you have the option of taking the tuk tuk or simply to walk. I don't really recommend taking the tuk tuk (three wheeler) or songthaew (the pickup trucks) for Phuket. My experience is most of them is that they are very expensive for the distance travelled - I feel they are out to swindle foreigners, taking us for cash cows. Get your hotel to recommend a tuk tuk, and if you find him to be any good, keep his cellphone number and use him for subsequent trips. Getting a ride from the roadside almost always ends with a bad experience. If you really have to, another option to consider is to rent a car. But drive very, very carefully - Phuket drivers observe the law of the jungle, and if you meet with an accident, as a foreigner, regardless who is wrong, the law is almost always stacked against you!
The Table of Content on the right column is where you can find a list of all the important pages of this website. If you are new to Phuket, I would suggest that you read About Phuket, which I write to provide first-time visitors a little background of the island. To go back in time, read Phuket History. The Geography page gives you an idea of the layout of the island. Another useful page to read, especially if you are planning a visit, is the Phuket Weather page.
Looking for budget accommodation in Phuket? Check out what's available in the Budget Accommodation Guide, a website I have created specially to help budget travelers find accommodation.
Okay, are you ready to explore Phuket? To make it easy for you to go through the tourist attractions in Phuket, I am listing them in alphabetical order in the Phuket Sight Index. For each sight, I try to provide you as much information as is available, so that you can plan your visit there on your own.
Phuket, Guide for First Timers
Before you arrive in Phuket, I would urge you to read About Phuket, to properly acquaint yourself to the island and orientate yourself to it.
Beyond Phuket
Phuket Travel Tips not only covers the sights in Phuket, I also write about the nearby destinations. I know most visitors to Phuket, having travelled thousands of miles, are likely to want to stay longer and explore more of Southern Thailand. Hence, I want to recommend nearby tourist sights which you can explore. This includes Phi Phi Island, Krabi, Phangnga National Park, Similan Island and Khao Sok National Park, to name a few.
If you take a great shot of this sight, let us help you showcase it. We search Panoramio for the most beautiful photographs of this destination, and display the best for all to see. If you photo is as good or even better, upload it to Panoramio (www.panoramio.com) and send us the link. If we find it any good, we will display it here, with attribution and link-back to your Panoramio page. Every now and then, we revise this page to show new selection, but the best will always stay!
All photographs by Panoramio photographers are governed by the Panoramio API, which allows display "as is", with attribution to the photographer and link to the photographer's Panoramio URL. Copyright of these photos belong to the photographer. Apart from displaying "as is" as hosted in Panoramio, the photos may not be copied or downloaded or used in any other methods without the prior permission of the photographer. Ever want to build your own website? Do it the right way by using
Site Build It (SBI). It has all the tools and lessons necessary to help you create a successful website. Once you have built an SBI website, you can also use it to recommend SBI to others with an SBI Affiliate account. What I like most about SBI is that it gives you a whole month to try it out for free, and if you don't like it after a full month, you can seek a full refund. That way, you can see for yourself how SBI can really help you create a great website.
